The design of this house started from my client's personal ritual of coming home, and the typology of home and domesticity was the main leitmotif here.

Its form and materiality are created at the junction of the needs of two contexts - external and internal - for the city and neighbouring buildings the house fills the missing space in building line, but due to its height and minimal architectural language it becomes a rather quiet neighbour. And for my client it embodies the concept of home and living, both in its typology and in its materiality.

As part of the student brief we also had to come up with a new social role for our client, so working for the benefit of the neighbouring houses my client became the concierge - letting only local people into the yard and also keeping their paraphernalia of domesticity.

Each room in the house is allocated to a specific typology - clothing storage, with a fridge for coats, canned goods storage with a wine cellar downstairs, a building department and a room for oversized items. With the private part of the house, these rooms meet in the living room, which also houses furniture and decor items.
