Studio with shop
Space of mixed typologies connected by the common idea of cultural enlightenment perfectly fits into a double-height room on Myasnitskaya street with panoramic windows. On the ground floor there is a shop and a cafe, above an office for six employees, and in the basement a pottery and carpentry workshop.
The whole modern intervention is materially and tactilely separated from the walls of the early 20th century building. The brick has been left in a thick layer of plaster and all the new walls are smooth and covered with paint. The newly built frame is also honest and light in its materiality.
The height of the wall allows for temporary exhibitions, and the basement workshop space can also become exhibition rooms for models and sculptures.
